| Giclee Prints |
| Giclee or Iris Prints are Fine Art Prints that are virtually indistinguishable from the original artwork. Each print is digitally produced – one at a time – by expert craftsmen utilizing state-of- the-art giclee printing technology. The French word “giclee” means “a spray of liquid.” With ultra-sensitive digital scans and an eight-color digital printer, four million drops per inch of water-based ink are sprayed onto archival quality paper. No screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern - just continuous, brilliant color. Examples of giclee prints can be found in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Modern Art and in the most respected galleries around the world. Strombotne Studio uses this state-of-the-art printing process to faithfully capture the look and feel of James Strombotne’s original paintings on canvas at a fraction of the cost of the original works. All Strombotne giclee prints are signed and numbered and produced in limited editions consistent with the archival standards of traditional collectible Fine Art Prints with a 100 year longevity. Prices range from $850 to $1400. Please call (949) 395-1834 for more information. |
